Polish History Museum – Warsaw Citadel

Concrete stairs DASAG complement the stunning design of the building of the Polish History Museum

A new facility of a cultural institution has appeared at the Warsaw Citadel. The Polish History Museum, together with other buildings of cultural institutions in the Warsaw Citadel, created one of the largest museum complexes in Europe, with an area of as much as 45,000 . The facility consists not only of the exhibition part, but also spaces such as a concert hall, catering outlets or cinema and theater halls. The entire building impresses with its modern design, geometric form and elegant minimalism. In the construction of the Polish History Museum, custom-made stairs made of DASAG noble concrete were used.

Unique design of the staircase cladding of the Polish History Museum

In the main hall of the Polish History Museum there are concrete stairs that we produced especially for the WXCA architectural studio (responsible for the entire project). The stair cladding we have created has been made in a unique design that has never been used in our portfolio before. All this to fully match the finished staircase design to the creative vision of the team of architects and emphasize the unique character of the Polish History Museum. The stair cladding has been equipped with non-slip inserts made of brass to give the interior of the museum prestige and elegance at . In order to ensure even greater safety for museum visitors, together with a team of architects, we have chosen contrasting colors of the stair cladding, which additionally facilitate movement on the stairs for people with disabilities.

Individual design of concrete stairs for the Polish History Museum

The uniqueness of this project is manifested not only in the unique design, but also in the comprehensive approach to the order. In order to provide the best possible product and fully match it to the artistic vision of the architects from the WXCA studio, we have also created platform slabs in an unusual format – 60x220x5 cm. We have been looking for the perfect solution that would meet the expectations of architects for a long time. We had several approaches to designing the order to choose a fully satisfactory solution. All this to create the most harmonious staircase design that will perfectly harmonize with the rest of the building. In total, we provided about two kilometers of running stairs and landing slabs for the construction of the Polish History Museum.

For the purposes of the implementation, we provided:

  • concrete platform slabs in the format of 60x220x5 cm,
  • stair cladding with brass insert with lengths up to 220 cm.
